2 ) Character impressions
3 ) Innovativeness
4 ) The nominee prankster has at least one really great call
The committee members are specifically cautioned not to accept bribes in lieu of votes. Sometimes nominees buy full page ads in publications such as the Hollywood Reporter to draw attention, however these paid ads do not effect votes and such behavior is discouraged. Also sometimes prank callers books rooms at the Beverly Hills Hotel during the weekend in which selections are made. This is discouraged also, as selection committee members dress inconspicuously as tourists in Hawaiian shirts and khaki shorts, and wear no badges or other identification.
